Applying car polish may seem like a waste of time and money, however it is extremely beneficial in the long run. If you apply car polish to your vehicle once every three to four months, the body of your vehicle will last years longer, you will spend less money on paint jobs, and your car will bring more money for a trade in. I like to work it right into my routine, because I know that it will save me money in the long run. I like to use the following holidays as a reminder to wax the car: Valentines Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. Btw, if you need car insurance, go here for an instant car insurance quote.

On a bit of a side note, washing your car regularly is also very important. Actually, car washing is just as important as waxing, especially if you live in an area where the roads are treated with salt in the winter. I like to add washing my car to my weekly routine. I save up quarters in the car that I get as change and use them to run through the car wash. It does not cost much and only takes about five minutes per week, but it will add so much life onto the car. But back to car polishing.

Car polish application is actually a simple process. Be certain that your car has been thoroughly washed and dried before your begin the application process. Once washing and drying has been completed, begin applying the car polish to one section of the car at a time. It is best to test an inconspicuous area of the car first whenever you use a new type of car polish, just to make sure it will not have any adverse reaction. I like to work from top to bottom on the car because there is usually more dirt at the bottom of the car that I do not want to rub around to the other sections of the car. I make the bottom of the car the final section because I do not want to scratch up my paint.

Once you are done applying your car polish, rub the car off with a soft cloth to make it nice and shiny. Applying car polish may seem like an odious task, however, it will save you quite a bit of money in the long run. It will add years of life to your car and add dollar signs if you ever sell or trade in your vehicle. A simple application of car polish will keep your car looking just as beautiful as the day that you brought it home. It is definitely worth it in the long run to keep your car clean and polished… a little work now will pay off later!

Car polish is a must have product in your car care inventory. The reason is simple; everyone loves a shiny car and a good polish helps you get the brand new look back. Car polishes not only make your car look fresh, but also help protect the paint and prevent paint failure. Bird poo, oil, dust and grime are some of the pollutants that accumulate on the outer surface of a car over a period of time. Just washing your car is not sufficient as most of these contaminants have acids and adhesive agents in them which stick to the car paint and slowly eat through the protective layer of paint exposing bare metal. Bare metal corrode easily leading to rusting of the car, reducing its life and resale value. There are numerous car polishes in the market with a varying number of ingredients. However, most car polishes have abrasive component to help remove the oil and grime marks. Some car polish products also include filler agents to fill in the gaps left by scratch marks.

Application of car polish is a painstaking procedure, a technique that needs to be mastered. The first step is to wash the car . Wash first with plain water and then with a car specified detergent mix. Detergent used for washing clothes are never to be used as they are strong and may damage your car paint. The third stage is to again wash off the car detergent with plain water. Use a chamois leather car towel or a micro fiber car towel to dry your car. Having done that put the car polish evenly with an applicator brush which usually comes with your car polish product. It is important to apply the car polish evenly, making sure you leave no holidays. Leave the car polish to dry off for the time period specified as per the car polish manual of instructions. Then rub it off with a micro fiber towel to give you a good glow and a brand new look car.

The various components in the car polish perform different tasks such as dissolving and removal of oil and grime by the abrasive part and the shine and protection task done by the wax component. The water repellant property of the wax component helps protect your car paint from water. How often should you polish your car? A two to three week interval is recommended between car polishing. Too frequent car polishing is not recommended for your paint because irrespective of what the advertisement may claim, all car polishes will remove a very thin layer of your car paint which over time results in thinning of the car paint and dulling of the color. So a sensible interval between polishing is a must.
