The best way to keep your car looking new and fresh is to wash and wax it regularly. Your goal should be to try and wash your car at least once per month and apply car polish once every three to four months. Washing your car will prevent build up of everything that you don’t want- bugs, salt build up, etc. Car polish or wax makes your car look shiny and protects it from fading.
Usually, I like to wash my car about once per week. I tend to save change in one of the compartments of my car and use the change I accumulate at the self-serve car wash. During most weeks, I like to wash the car at some point and I usually apply car polish on Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Valentine’s Day. This definitely helps prevent corrosion and keeps my car look its best.
Waxing a car is a relatively simple process. Car polish, or wax, is applied as a thin, transparent layer over the paint. It not only protects it from the elements, but hides minor flaws in the paint, such as scratches, and makes them less visible. Car polish also seals the paint, making it less susceptible to corrosion. Begin waxing only after your have thoroughly washed and dried your car.
Dry the car off, then apply the car polish one small section at a time to the exterior. I would suggest testing your car polish on a small, non-visible section to make sure that it won’t have adverse effects on the finish. I try to work from the top to the bottom of the car-there is a great chance of having dirt left on the bottom of the car. You won’t want to rub that all over the car-you want that to be the last part that you do.
Once you have completed the application process, buff your car to a nice shine using a soft, clean towel. I prefer to buy a towel to use specifically for this process, but an old house towel will do the job as long as it’s clean and soft.
So there you have it-the easiest way to keep your car looking as good as the day you brought it home. This process doesn’t take long, and can actually be fun if you do it with a friend!

It is advisable to ensure you buy a non abrasive car wax so your car does not get damaged in any way Read the directions clearly given on the package and first test it on a small area.
If you choose a liquid polish, it should be shaken so as the liquid is mixed thoroughly and then it should be applied on a sponge which then is to be applied all over the car evenly.
For a natural shine and protection from the harsh environment there is nothing better than using car wax.
Car wax forms a thin transparent layer over the cars exterior paint thus forming a primary protection against any harm caused to the automobile. Though car wax does not provide complete protection from scratches in any it does make them less visible which is very beneficial. The car wax also seals the paint so there is not contact of water with the paint which could lead to corrosion. Car wax is not a permanent application and needs to be reapplied regularly for best results.

It is not necessary, but it sure does make you seem a bit more polished. Quite the contrary. Using car wax is more like using sun protection or eating a balanced diet. It provides protection for the painted surfaces of the car and prevents fading in those areas. Your car will perform better and last longer, if you have a routine of washing, waxing and keeping up with service and repairs.
Carnauba car wax is an effective wax and it is easily applicable as well. For using the car wax on regular basis, easily application is must. The spots which are not removable from the car after washing can be removed by applying car wax. Apply the car wax onny for two hours on the cars. Moreover, car wax should be used in the suggested quantity only.

Water and wax combine badly, so make sure the car is completely dry before you wax. If the car is parked in the sun or for some other reason the paint is hot to the touch, cool the car off before you wax. Heat burns wax onto the finish, with ugly and hard to remove results.
If your car has detailing you do not want to wax, cover the parts with masking tape. Then with a damp sponge, apply the car wax to your car, going in small circles (if you have an older car) or long strokes along the lines of the car (if you have a newer car).
Dip your dampened sponge into the wax, keeping a dollop the size of a half dollar coin on there.
Beginning on one side of the car, rub on the car wax with small circular motions. Work your way around the entire outside of the car using these circular motions, reapply wax to your sponge when necessary. Be careful to avoid cracks between the doors, hood and trunk.
